Window Shopping at Anthropologie, H Square

Anthropologie, located at 48 Brattle St, Cambridge, MA has taken over the old Design Research building–which has sat almost empty for over a year since Crate and Barrel moved out. The store carries an enticing array of clothing, jewelry, shoes, boots and bags–most items are a bit ornate for my simple tastes but definitely worth a visit if only to see the store’s beautiful and creative arrangements of merchandise.

Health gizmos for non-geeks: new monitoring devices for staying well

I was blown away when I heard about pill bottle caps that will tell you (or your doctor or your caretakers) if you’ve forgotten to take your meds…a kazoo that measures the chemistry of the air from your lungs…and a telephone that can assess whether you’re depressed–from the tones of your voice. Remote health monitoring gizmos are not for the future: they are now!

Eeek Mice #5

Last night, I got back from an art opening, turned on the kitchen light and a mouse (I hope) the size of my loafer ran across the counter top, dropped to the floor, continued across the room and disappeared under the stove.

I screamed (no meek “eek,” this time).

Eek, mice, please advise, cont.

I live on the fifth floor of a brick building near Harvard Square–and have mice. The building management has given me traps–but these being Cambridge mice, they appear to be outsmarting us. Can you please advise me on what it might cost to seal off a 750 Sq. foot apartment with a living room, bedroom, kitchen, hallway and bathroom?
